Museum Guests Beat the Heat at Dressed to a Tea

Guests traded the July sun for sweet tea, mimosas, and a candid conversation about style at the American Saddlebred Museum’s “Dressed to a Tea,” event held Wednesday, July 8th at the Museum. The afternoon paired a style show with a panel discussion that gave attendees a look behind the curtain at how the best-dressed exhibitors get that way.

Glasscock and Glasscock Too opened the program with a style show that set the tone for the afternoon, sending models down the runway in looks built for both the show ring and the real world. Guests settled in with lunch as the runway gave way to the day’s centerpiece: a panel discussion moderated by Bret Day and featuring Dale Becker, Jeffrey Fetzer, David Freedman, Jeff Hunter, and Howie Schatzberg. The five covered fashion, photography, makeup, and everything in between. Guests had the opportunity to bid on an exciting silent auction and browse pop-up boutiques from The Fetzer Face, Glasscock, Glasscock Too, and Tracy Paige.

None of this would be able to happen without generous support from our Saddlebred community. WoodLea Farms LLC, the Stinnett family served as Presenting Sponsor. Our table sponsors included Deborah Butler, Lisa Decuir, Donna Finch, Jennie Garlington, Sally Jackson, Sally and Keith Kurz, Diane Sembler-Kamins, Anne Tasch, Nancy Trent, and Chryse Veit. Nic and Barclay DeWet of Leatherwood Stud, along with Social & Co., kept the drinks flowing throughout the afternoon.

“Dressed to a Tea” raised both funds and spirits for the Museum’s ongoing work preserving American Saddlebred history. Watch out for more information about opening weekend festivities on November 6 and 7 for our upcoming exhibit: Show Me A Saddlebred: Missouri’s Saddlebred Legacy, 1890–1976.
