Doc Flannery Driving Worthy Forbes and Worthy Matron, Champion Roaster Pair

George Ford Morris (American, 1873 – 1960)


Original Oil on Canvas.  Signed.   36” T x 28” W.  Story and photos featured on pages 150 and 231 of Portraitures of Horses.  Painted in 1938 for the famous trotting horse team’s owner, Charles M. Williams, of Cincinnati, Ohio.  Morris’ signature use of color and attention to detail created a perfect replica of this team. The black, matched pair of Worthy Forbes and Worthy Matron was very successful under the guidance of noted horseman R.C. “Doc” Flannery.
